Education is one of the cornerstones of AHEPA's mission.  AHEPA members strive to create opportunities for young people to reach their full potential.  The Palmetto Chapter 284 is proud to offer two scholarships to help students achieve their education goals:  the George A. Boukedes Scholarship and the Daniel Kavadas Scholarship.

The George A. Boukedes Scholarship is awarded to the children of members of AHEPA Palmetto Chapter 284.  It is named to honor George A. Boukedes, who started the Palmetto Chapter 284 Golf Tournament thirty years ago.  In 2004, 11 recipients each received $1000.00 towards their college educational expenses.  Funding comes from the annual Palmetto Chapter 284 Golf Tournament, donations, and other fund raisers.

The George A. Boukedes Scholarship is administered by the AHEPA Columbia Foundation.  Children, step-children and members themselves are eligible, as long as the member is in good standing with the Chapter or the Daughters Of Penelope.

Award determinations are made every calendar year, so individuals must apply each year.  After enrollment verification a check is written to the school and student. Applications are accepted from June 1st to August 31st every calendar year.  The Scholarships will be awarded in December of that same calendar year.
